An internationally renowned Visual Effects Supervisor with 100+ credits, 2x Primetime Emmys, 3x VES Awards, a BAFTA nomination, plus many other awards & nominations. Ed's recent portfolio includes Paul Thomas Anderson’s Oscar winning One Battle After Another, Paramount’s Gladiator II, and Emmy & VES-winning work on HBO’s The Penguin and FX’s Shōgun. His pedigree includes iconic titles like Stranger Things, Game of Thrones, WandaVison, and The Irishman to name but a few.

Nicholas Murphy - Founder & Business Director
A seasoned Emmy-winning VFX Producer, Nicholas brings a masterly understanding of the intersection between business and artistry. His celebrated career includes Emmy & BAFTA collaborations with Ed and award-winning work on Game of Thrones, Ahsoka, The Mandalorian, The Favourite, Shōgun, and Ripper Street.

The Name

Ireland has a strong history of storytelling. Many Irish myths and legends are well known.

The Legend of Tír na nÓg (the "Land of the Young")is a cornerstone of Irish mythology. Oisín, a warrior-poet travels to Tír na nÓg with the golden-haired Niamh. This mystical realm offers eternal youth, beauty, and joy.

Time passes differently in the mystical realm. After 3 years pass and overcome by homesickness, Oisín begs to visit Ireland to see his family & friends. Niamh reluctantly agrees and lends him Enbarr but gives a warning that he must never set foot on Irish soil or the years he missed will instantly catch up to him. Upon his return, Oisín is devastated to find Ireland unrecognizable. He learns that 300 years have passed.

In a final act of kindness, Oisín leans down from Enbarr to help a group of men move a heavy boulder. His saddle snaps, and he falls to the ground. The moment he touches the earth, the magical protection of Tír na nÓg vanishes and he instantly ages into a withered, old man, eventually dying.

In modern retellings of this myth, the name Enbarr is poetically translated as "Imagination”.
